The Dallas Convention Center is located on the south side of downtown Dallas, bordered by Akard, Canton, Market and Marilla streets. The Dallas Convention Center is the premier meeting and exposition facility in the country, with world class customer service.
The Dallas Convention Center began in 1957 with the opening of the Dallas Memorial Auditorium. Expansions in 1973, 1984, 1994, and another one scheduled to begin soon have led to the facility's "growing" reputation as the leading convention facility in the country.
A public park area, Pioneer Plaza, was added to the external view of the Convention Center in 1994 and now features the largest bronze sculpture in the world -- a life-size Texas cattle drive featuring more than 70 steer and three cowboys. In 1997, the DCC became the first convention center in the world to offer wireless Internet service to customers and clients.
